Short Film on Stencl

In 2021 during the pandemic the Manchester Poetry Library commissioned Rachel Lichtenstein to produce a short film on the life and work of the Yiddish poet Avram Nachum Stencl. In collaboration with director Andy Delany from NewArtFilms, they have produced a rich collage of sound recordings, video interviews and archive footage that shares the story of Stencl and Lichtenstein’s search for the poet. The film exists as an acquisition for the poetry library.
